Bait 3D As you all know I get all gleeful and stuff during shark movies. No matter how bad I usually enjoy them (even Jersey Shore Shark Attack). So Bait is a no-brainer for me. The real question is What kind of shark film is this? The cover shows a shark in a supermarket with a tag line of “Cleanup on Aisle 7.” To me this shows that the film is going to be a completely absurdest romp. It’s a shark in a supermarket, and really, how more original can you get? That was not the case at ... continue reading...

Book Reviews: The Cocktail Waitress
The Cocktail Waitress Author: James M. Cain (posthumous publication) Deliciously ambivalent, James M. Cain’s posthumously published (September 2012) The Cocktail Waitress drives an aroma of nostalgia for his noir novels published in the 70’s and his fine criminal finesse. Told in the first person by protagonist Mrs. Joan Medford, we can’t be certain if she’s a cleverly psychopathic three time murderer, or an innocent victim of her need to keep her three year old son, Tad, at any cost to ... continue reading...
DVD Reviews: Delicacy
Delicacy [Blu-ray] Audrey Tautou is absolutely adorable in everything she is in. It’s a problem. Not unlike Audrey Hepburn, they can do nothing and just frankly filled with close up shots and you will still be captivated. Her ability to own the screen is simply a pleasure to watch. The scenario ... continue reading...

Me – I was so glad not to have to look or listen to Transformers for at least ONE weekend, as I hate the exposure of violence to Mari and Kai – that I did a somersault when I saw their grins at BROK the brachosaurus, SPAN the spinosaurus, and ATTILA the Ankylsaurus! We had just spent a day at the Museum ... continue reading...

Tilt Author: Ellen Hopkins Ellen Hopkins needs no introduction. She is one of our foremost writers of young adult poetic fiction today. She is controversial; she is exciting; she is frightening; she is not one to refrain from pulling any punches in her teenager’s gone wrong series of books. TILT compels. Written in a glorious language concoction of poem/stream-of-consciousness/dialogue narrative, Hopkins creates symmetry of language laid against bricks of stark action and sharp emotion and ... continue reading...
