Climate change is very real, but it is not unsolvable at all. There are tons of actionable steps that you can take to try and save the planet from the changing weather.
Refuse, Reduce, Recycle
Going zero waste is a fantastic way for you to combat climate change. If you want to refuse, then you need to avoid things like single-use plastics and even paper products too. Reducing means downsizing whatever you purchase while also trying to be way more mindful of what you really need. As for recycling you need to try and properly sort any paper, metal or glass that you have according to the recycling laws in your area. The more you can do this, the more you will be able to help the planet.
Drive Less and Use Public Transport where You Can
Traditional cars really do put out a lot of fumes. These all pollute the air and it is a major factor when it comes to climate change. The toxins that are emitted by vehicles are also dangerous to human health as well. If you want to help yourself here then you need to challenge yourself to drive less and you also need to try and ride your bike more. The more you can utilize your own muscle power over your car, the better you will be helping the environment overall. If you are not able to ride a bike to work, then try and use public transportation instead.
Swap to a Clean Energy Provider
Another thing that you can do is try and swap to a clean energy provider. When you do this, you will soon find that you are supporting the right businesses and that you can also take advantage of a huge range of deals and discounts as well.
Conserve Water Around the Home
Reducing your water usage is essential. At the end of the day, there’s only so much water on this earth and it’s impossible to make more. With 96.5% of water on the earth being unsuitable for human consumption due to the high salt content, it’s safe to say that conserving water is important. Two-thirds of the available freshwater is locked away in ice, permanent snow or even glaciers. If you want to try and preserve the waterways then you need to try and shut off the water when you are brushing your teeth or even when you are lathering up. Never leave it running and only turn it on when it is time for you to rinse your mouth. Taking shorter showers will also really help you out here as well, and when you really make the effort you will soon find that you are able to cut down on your energy bills by a significant amount.
Of course, there are so many ways that you can try and reduce your carbon footprint and if you follow the above tips then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to benefit the environment.
