I haven't asked Bro'B about Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, but I can tell you that the rest of the family is EXTREMELY excited to see this twisted tale that brings Sparky the dog back to life, especially Clem the mini-bull-terrier. The last time we saw a bullie in a movie, it was Space Buddies (and Clem's sister Connie played the part of Sputnik), and we've been waiting rather impatiently ever since.Yes, we're crazy dog people who can't WAIT to see the 3D stop motion animated film in black and ... continue reading...

DVD Reviews: The Son of No One
The Son of No One [Blu-ray]Do we need another cop drama? No. I cannot count how many I have seen. The key to all cop dramas are the characters, the plot to me is completely secondary. If we cannot latch on to the characters the plot just won’t matter. I like Dito Montiel as a director (I may catch flack for this) but his first movie is one of my favorites of the decade. With this in mind I thought this film is pretty good, at least average. Synopsis Time!A rookie cop is assigned to the ... continue reading...
Food reviews: Saffron Road Foods
There’s a new stew in town All Natural Saffron Road Food!I fall into a feeding frenzy with all natural foods – so much so that I threw my microwave into the dumpster two years ago. DVD Reviews: Rebecca
Rebecca [Blu-ray]Nearly 20 years before "Vertigo", Alfred Hitchcock made another film featuring romantic atmosphere, social misfits, a possible ghost, and male-female frustration. Except in "Rebecca's" case, it was from the woman's point of view. So you could call this a chick flick version of Vertigo? The secret to truly appreciating this movie is to get through the first hour or so of it. To be frank, that first hour is less than riveting. We find ourselves following the romance and the early ... continue reading...
DVD Reviews: Spellbound
Spellbound [Blu-ray]I’m not going to lie I kind of think that Hitchcock’s American work is not as good as his previous work in Canada or the UK. However this is one of the better Hitch & Selznick features. This is not the 39 Steps or The Lady Vanishes it is much more Hollywood. Synopsis Time! The head of the Green Manors mental asylum Dr. Murchison is retiring to be replaced by Dr. Edwardes, a famous psychiatrist. Edwardes arrives and is immediately attracted to the beautiful but cold Dr. ... continue reading...
