We all need a little down time now and then. While I was thinking of the different ways that I get my ZEN on, I realized that we all have different ways to deccompress.
Here are my FAVE FIVE ways to get MY Zen on
1. CDs! Yes, CDs!
Mine come from Brainwave Entertainment Music, ZenMelodies.com, “Stress Relief and Relaxation,” and “Creativity Boosting Meditation” (brainwave entrainment suite for writers’ block, increased mental focus and problem solving skills). Yup, I love Zen Melodies. Zen Melodies music utilizes a mix of soothing, ambient soundscapes embedded with binaural beats and isochronic tones to deliver one of the most effective, deep and pleasurable hypnotic trance experiences possible.
2. A short car day trip.
I make mine into the canyons and mountains, and stop and romp for a while with my dog! It’s an easy fix to serenity!
3. Stop and take a photograph
It could be as simple as a strand of grass or an empty railroad car. Try different angles, and just enjoy the process. Have the shot framed and put in your bedroom.
4. Watch a chick flick or a Man cave movie all by yourself
With popcorn of course. Choose something you would not ordinarily watch that is funny or just plain relaxing.
5. A random act of kindness is sheer Zen!
Why not buy a pair of pretty fry pans (mine came from Walmart, and are The Pioneer Woman Floral Design brand, and are very reasonable, under $12.00.
Fill each fry pan with a recipe and ingredients. I put a rib eye steak, a package of Idaho potatoes, and a small jar of olive oil in one and the makings for pancakes in the other and then I gift them to friends with a big bow!
