CD Reviews& Giveaway: The Flannery Brothers in “The New Explorer Club”

“The new Explorers Club invites everyone in the family to go exploring.  While songs about submarine diving kite flying, and pirates might be expected in this context, listeners may be surprised to hear a reggae number about lying down on the kitchen floor or an exciting boogie woogie tune about swallowing a bug.  There’s even a song – complete with boot tap solo – about boots,” says Waldmania’s The New Explorers Club CD press release.

While I liked the song selections, listed below, the groups’ vocals didn’t “fell me” into a swoon of ecstasy.  The songs, with nicely crafted lyrics and shake your bootie scores, proved light and fun.  However, the singing just didn’t enhance the delightful lyrics and rhythmic beats.  (Maybe this is because I reviewed this CD right after listening to Caspar Babypants, with Chris Balew’s notable and enriched vocals).  At any rate, this is certainly a CD that your children might like, and the upbeat songs proved well composed.  My booty, however, stayed home with the Three Little Pigs and I didn’t get much dancing in on this CD track.  Still, all in all, the songs provided a lot of silly ditties and were definitely a winner with my grandkids, who had fun shaking and breaking on the dance floor.  Milo said “beat is great” and Isa, who dances at the flip of a hand, said, “Not Paramour, but I’ll deal!”
