As a traveler, I sometimes wonder if I take off to escape rather than explore. Cheryl Strayed’s true story, while extreme, hits home. • Jean-Marc didn’t want traditional score, but rather a soundtrack that got Cheryl through the quiet and tougher times of her hike. The music in the film is a reflection of how people use their favorite songs to get them through good times and bad.
