There are times when I get so much enjoyment from popping a CD into the player in my car and singing at the top of my lungs. There are other times when I just want the music to take me away.
Dion Roy’s breakout first CD, “Gallery” is the a bit of the latter. With his singer/songwriter style Dion Roy confides in you his innermost feelings. You can immediately hear the influences of both rock and folk within all of his songs.
I particularly like the sounds of his harmonizing and there seem to be tracks that have been produced better than others. While some of his songs sound a bit over-written, like “Come Back Around,” there are quite a few on this album that will have you hitting the replay button on your CD player.
Favorite Tracks:
- “Won’t Go On”
- “So it Goes”
Overall: A totally unpretentious sound (oh, and he’s CUTE TOO).
