Author: Harold Feinstein
“I’ve watched you now a full half-hour: Self-poised upon that yello flower And, little Butterfly! indeed I know not if you sleep or feed. How motionless! – not frozen seas More motionless! and then What joy awaits you, when the breeze Hath found you out among the trees, And calls you forth again!”
William Wordsworth – “To a Butterfly”
The joy one gets from seeing a single butterfly among the flowers on a summer day is immense. Imagine 100 Butterflies all within reach? Famed nature photographer Harold Feinstein has done just that.
Fans of Mr. Feinstein’s photographs will delight in his newest set of 100 nature photographs (my favorite being One Hundred Seashells). Explosive color on the most delicate of wings, these photos (mostly taken of South American, Asian and Central American butterflies) will delight even the most jaded. Printed on high quality stock, with each photo having it’s own page, these works of art belong framed and hung and not just sitting on your coffee table.
My words can not do justice, nor can they allow you the vision, so I suggest that you go to Mr. Feinstein’s website www.haroldfeinstein.com to get a sense of the magnitude of his work. If you get the chance to go to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History or the Museum of Modern Art, you can check out his work as they are a part of the permanent collections of these and many other museums.
For both nature lovers as well as art lovers this large coffee table book would be a cherished part of your collection. I’m including it as part of the holiday gift guide, because this broad would LOVE getting this book as a gift.
