The Gluten Free Revolution
Author: Jax Peters Lowell
From the noted author of The Gluten Free Bible, The Gluten Free Revolution proves a compendium of comprehensive, complete information on all aspects of gluten free diets, celiac disease; other autoimmune disorders caused by wheat and wheat by-products and are written in a friendly, informative tone. Lowell does not let a pin drop without telling the reader when it comes to gluten and gluten intolerance. She details foods that can and cannot be eaten, where to get them, what foods to stay away from by manufacturer and name of product, and provides an assembly of recipes and information that simply cannot be obtained from other sources. I am so impressed with Lowell’s attention to complete detail, for I have a 12 year old granddaughter with Celiac’s and this book has brought to my attention that I need to be tested, for it runs in families. As an eater of natural foods, fruits and vegetable, I also appreciated that I will probably use her recipes and advice whether or not I have Celiac’s, since Lowell provides specific advice on additives in our foods that are not healthy, and indeed cause disease.
Easy to read, and so comprehensive that I think your doctor could learn a few things from this book, The Gluten Free Revolution appeals to anyone who cares about their health, diet and disease. She also considers taking care of your diet essential: keep others including family OUT of your kitchen if you are taking gluten free seriously, and after reading her book, I certainly will. She details ways to save money on gluten free natural foods as they are more expensive; she covers meats, dairy, and prepared foods with great detail; and she becomes our Mom when it comes to how to live with a gluten free diet.
Outrageously, bodaciously good, I could not put this 617 page book down, and I believe that it will become the new bible for gluten free eating. As Lowell states, this is not an option for the millions of Americans who are gluten intolerant, who have Celiac or have any reactions to wheat in their diet. Celiac can kill. So if you are looking for the best, and caring about your family, RUN don’t walk to put this book in your kitchen and your library! It is simply….SENSATIONAL!
