For most people, their dream is to be married in a famous cathedral or church. Many of these are in large cities or tourist-haven towns. Inevitably, your dates are limited as you want to miss the winter and autumn, but also miss the holiday season too. People will sacrifice a bit of their scenery to be married in a church of their dreams. And for others, the location and scenery are more important. The countryside wedding favors the latter, as it gives you views that you cannot hope to replicate anywhere else. It’s a totally different form of wedding, one which is magical, connected to nature and down to earth.
The village option
You can get married in the countryside but if you still want to take your vows in a place of worship, a village is the best option. Most villages have a humble old church which gives you a cozy personal space in which to have the ceremony. When you walk outside, you’re mere seconds away from being in the countryside. You have the logistical means to make your wedding possible and not cost you an arm and a leg. Utilize various venues in the village itself if it offers a hall to host parties and local caterers. A village also gives you a place to stay and prepare the wedding rather than just arriving on the day.
The villa option
You know you’re really out in the country when your wedding is in a villa. Villas are private residences and are seen as exclusive and grand. They make perfect wedding venues as they offer a fantastic place to hold your party and ceremony. Imagine taking your vows overlooking a lush green landscape of rolling hills and vineyards. It’s relaxed yet it’s so beautiful. You have a courtyard for a small reception, exquisite mansions made from stone and wood, as well as absolute privacy. Being married among urban sprawl is okay for some. But for others, the noise of cars honking and thousands of footsteps bring the whole mood down. It’s your special day and all eyes should be on you. A villa gives you exclusivity and privacy in spades.
The farmhouse option
Farmhouses or barn weddings are rising in popularity because they put you in the center of the countryside. It’s about being at one with animals, the country life and most of all, enjoying the down to earth coziness. It’s also the least expensive option of all countryside weddings. Barns and farmhouses are large buildings but they’re certainly not as expensive to rent as villas. You’re also not getting in the way of everyday life for a village. Perhaps the best part of a farmhouse wedding is the sheer abundance of style options. There’s nothing you can’t do to a farmhouse in terms of decor, decorations, themes and seating arrangements. This is an option for you if you want lots of space, a low price but plenty of customization.
Countryside weddings are inherently beautiful. The sun is shining down without obstruction, clear blue skies, and fresh air. All eyes are on you and you’re surrounded by incredible scenery.
