What a cool little Indie Flick!

I’m going to put my cards right on the table before I begin reviewing,  go out and rent or buy this movie.  It was a pleasure to watch a fun, easy to watch movie that both my fiancé and I loved.  It happens so rarely that our tastes overlap. We bonded over A Clockwork Orange but never again over a movie until the other night.

Let me set the mood.  It was the night before Valentines Day, we were both working on V-Day so we celebrated a day early.  After we got home from the gym I cooked chicken parmesan and we sat at the dinner table, completely unusual for us.  Dinner for us is usually spent separately due to our crap schedules.  We were being “good” so we had a small cup of fro-yo and we decided to put the film on. 

As the opening titles ran she exclaimed “I f*cking love this movie.”  The opening credits were cool to her avail but not enough to garnish any opinion about the movie.  The movie begins on the set of a porno film, hilarity ensues. 

Ok, now a quick summary… The film is (just as the title says) about a group of connected (like Crash or a Robert Altman film) females that are all dealing with different crisis.  They all have different jobs, 2 porn stars, a call girl, and a psychiatrist. By fate they all become intertwined.  It’s kind of like “The Women” but cool for everyone.  There are only three male character and they are all jack-asses. 

The amazing cast includes:

• Emmanuelle Chriqui
• Joseph Gordon-Levitt
• Connie Britton
• Simon Baker
• Adrianne Palicki
• Elizabeth Berkeley
• Marley Shelton

 
The performances are all quite good.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt is amazing, just watch after the credits roll.  I do not want to talk about any of the women actors because it may spoil the film.

Unfortunately the film comes light on special features but high on girl power.

Ratings are based on a 5-star scale
I give the film 4 and a half burned bras out of  5.
