DVD Reviews & Giveaway: Amelia Earhart – Queen of the Air

Full of great visuals of the legendary aviator, I missed having more information in this video.  A woman of legendary independence, Amelia’s hard start in life caused difficulty for her to trust.   And an almost suicidal tendency for adventure.  She drew on willpower to command her love of flying, and although she was a competent pilot, she was not the best technically.  She did not take her Morse code equipment on her last flight in 1937 (she did not even know how it worked) nor did she learn to use radio or carry it on the flight that downed her.  She and her navigator Noonan (known for his drinking habits, like her father) went down on her flight around the world.  The entire world mourned.

For what Earhart did have was courage, fortitude and charisma.  Known for her love of privacy, we do not, in this video, get a clear picture of who she was.

The footage is great; the format is not.  I was medium on this DVD, although I did enjoy the photography.
