Oceans, by DisneyNature, compels the viewer with the sights and sounds of a vast underwater galaxy and the creatures that inhabit this underwater continent. Beneath the deep seas, stretching across the Earth, iguanas, sea turtles, sting rays, dolphins, whales, sharks, seals, walrus and birds display hunting mystique, and complex lives that create their own playground and reality. Billions of years before the appearance of human life, the ocean has spawned creatures in many and unique forms. The blanket octopus, bright orange, wraps itself around powerful currents. The undersea cinematography proves phenomenal, as it pierces the depths of the ocean’s voluminous life species.
Panoramic and visually breathtaking, the mystical sea unwraps its secrets as we watch incredible beauty unfold. Mystical sea creatures and untold life create an incredible arena that amazes and stuns.
“What exactly is the ocean? What is the sea? You have to see, hear and taste it to feel its power,” states narrator Pierce Brosnan. Birds plunging into a sea of sardines – porpoises dancing amongst themselves in a feeding frenzy; every frame produces a visual wonder. From the Galapagos Islands, to South Africa’s coast, through Australian waters, Costa Rica, the China Sea, Monterey Bay, Alaska, Antarctica the ocean presents its plunder of exotic life forms.
This beautifully done DVD must be seen, like the ocean, to appreciate the power and wonder that reside in our oceans. And we must take care of the vastest resource on this continent, before we kill more species with massive nets and refuse dumped from rivers into our oceans.

- Iguanas watching the space shuttle disappear into space
- The perfect symmetry of shoals of fish resembling an underwater tornado
- Sea lions playing on white beaches and with each other
- Humpback whales sleeping beside one another
- Sea turtle eggs hatching on the beach, with 1 in 1,000 surviving and entering the ocean
- Sea anemones and clown fish enclosed in a symbiotic relationship
- Garden eel and ray fish ballet
There are so many magnificent and extraordinary scenes that this movie is a must for anyone who loves the undulations of the ocean and the life inside its tides and mores.
