One of the city’s famous plazas is the Machado Square which is also being considered as the jewel of the esoteric Centro Histórico. You’ll find the fascinating Teatro Angela Peralta on the west side built in the 1800s and fully restored in 1992. This is perfect for your romantic trip because the theater regularly offers lovely musicals and romantic shows. Just near the Teatro is a Spanish museum exhibiting the fascinating history of Mazatlán. Of course you’ll look for food and just at the northern side of the plaza are various restaurants that are also tourist-friendly. One of the favorites is the Pedro y Lola’s restaurant serving scrumptious meals. If you get the urge to burn through historical Spanish-written pages, head to the southern side where you’ll see the Universidad Politécnica de Sinaloa on Constitución. You can also visit various shops with fascinating local art for sale. Believe it or not, you’ll practically get the feeling that you’re in Paris when roaming around the plaza.
For a fascinating beach in the midst of the city, head straight to the scenic Olas Altas Beach. It sports a popular curving beach featuring various restaurants on the seaside. This stop is not to be missed and you won’t forget it because most of the hotels are just nearby.
