Frances England’s voice establishes a consistently amazing quality of indie-rock-pop-and funky hippety hop like a talented bunny twitching it ears outstretched to hear England’s luscious lyrics. “Each song is like a little treasure of artistry, creativity, and heart” states the Los Angeles Times. With versatility and warmth in a voice that entrances, “Mind of My Own” portrays England’s talent and love of singing, as well as providing a melodic set of impressionable tunes for the Tiny ones!
1) Mind of My Own: a two year old’s mantra combined with an adult’s “Don’t Tell Me What to Do” resting soundly between hot guitar and a voice that pops!
2) Do You Hear the Birds Singing: Twangy, fiddley, England’s voice caresses lyrics and then startles with an “oh uh” chorus. Country western meets rock with a sauciness sprinkled on top of a violin background
4) Red Balloon: England’s voice carries this melody with power and control, a lyrical artistry that defines kid-pop at its best
The rest of the CD contains:
6) Place in Your Heart
7) Bicycle
8) High on the Mountainside
9) Cookies & Milk
10) Vacation Delights
11) To Be
12) Come Back Home
13) All the Ways
14) Pieces of Me
15) Big Heart
I can’t begin to say enough “good words” to describe the saucy and tantalizing tang that carries England’s voice throughout this magical CD. The lyrics are great, but England herself has the talent and energy to compel listening over and over – not just for the kids – but for mommies and daddies too. Buy it!
“Mind of My Own’s” outstanding lyrics and joy of presentation and voice provide a Numero Uno Award from the Review Broads to Frances England.
