Isabel Gallegos, CEO of Gallegos Wines, is fed up. All her life, she has done what everyone wanted her to do, giving up her own dreams of becoming a marine biologist, In Argentina, an American student, Nick, talks the Gallegos family into giving up their vineyard and home in Argentina and moving to California. Isabel spends her life helping her parents make the Gallegos orchards into a financial success. She marries Nick, who becomes part of their family, but as Nick retreats into alcoholism, she divorces him. At last, she is going to pursue her own dream of living on the shores of the ocean. She and Nick, who is still Director of Operations at Gallegos, have a buyer – and Isabel can’t wait to get away from the overreaching responsibilities that have stolen her life.

Just as she is sealing the deal with the buyers of Gallegos, she receives a letter. her cousin Brenda and her husband Andre have died in a ski accident – leaving Isabel as guardian of their three young children, Sandra (10), Adelmo (8), and Julieta (4).
 
Isabel flies to Argentina intending to dump the children on their grandmother. Instead, she signs custody of them over to their strange uncle Ramiro. She takes the children to the United States while she waits for the winery to sell. And strange things behin to happen. She and Nick and the children become a family. Two months later, she returns the children to Argentina – where she learns to fight for them and her love for Nick.

Charming, this novel spans the Spanish culture of Argentina and the United States, and makes us fall in love with Julia Amante. Great second novel from an up and coming author.
