She marries Nick, who becomes part of their family, but as Nick retreats into alcoholism, she divorces him. At last, she is going to pursue her own dream of living on the shores of the ocean. She and Nick, who is still Director of Operations at Gallegos, have a buyer – and Isabel can’t wait to get away from the overreaching responsibilities that have stolen her life.
Just as she is sealing the deal with the buyers of Gallegos, she receives a letter. her cousin Brenda and her husband Andre have died in a ski accident – leaving Isabel as guardian of their three young children, Sandra (10), Adelmo (8), and Julieta (4).
Charming, this novel spans the Spanish culture of Argentina and the United States, and makes us fall in love with Julia Amante. Great second novel from an up and coming author.
