Author: James E. Strickling, Jr.
Creationism or Darwinism? Or something else? How DID man appear on this planet? James Stricking, Jr., an electrical engineer, a former NASA contractor and a mathematics teacher stakes his opinions on both sides and leaves them at their fault lines. He then proposes new time lines, and a new theory concerning man’s history.
There are three parts to the book.
- Knowledge, Ignorance and Arrogance
- Global Travail and the Birth of Man
- Ancient Puzzles, Modern Scrutiny, as well as an Appendix: The Origin of Matter.
While this book seemed well researched and thorough, I did not really understand Strickling’s arguments and where they were going, although someone more scientific or philosophic would certainly appreciate the exceptional research. This is a good book for the agnostic; I found it fair in many areas. For my own reading, however, the technicalities proved as baffling as the theories that Strickling protests. Now, I love Steven Hawkins, but I don’t profess to understand quantum physics either. All in all, a comprehensive study of one man’s theories as he goes through the Bible and discusses mistranslations and inaccuracies, and does the same with Darwinism, as well as some ancient texts that he reinterprets. For instance, the 7 days in the Bible could comprehensively mean 500 years for the one day.
While I am interested in theory, and I found some of Strickling’s logic well explained and truly interesting, without being offensive to any particular school of thought, I sis not harbor the passion that he holds as to his beliefs. Also, the timelines are figurative, and subjective. Who knows? were my thoughts. But philosophers and scientists appear in many robes, and I think anyone who is interested in creationism and Darwinism might find this an interesting tableau.
