It’s simple really. Going green. Or at least, it should be. Our forefathers were “green” without know it. There was no excess packaging, no gases being emitted into the atmosphere, etc. Everything was used and reused. The pioneers had it right. It was a simpler time and the earth was a much healthier place to be.
Life has become so much more complicated and in the process we’ve messed things up. Aerosol cans depleting the ozone layer (plus the hairspray made our hair look sticky – a lose/lose situation), we threw away plastic bags instead of using our own (and we could have been looking stylish with chic fabric bags all along)….the list goes on and on. But, that’s all water under the bridge (unless it’s undrinkable due to toxic waste). Many of us have vowed to go green.
The interesting thing is that we think of “going green’ as a complicated issue but it’s a very simple one. If we each take a step BACKWARDS and do things as our mother’s and father’s before us did, we’ll make progress (yes, a step back to go forward).
Living Green the missing manual is full of tips to help us accomplish our goal of saving the earth. From Raising a Green Family and Eating Green to Alternative and REnewable Energy sources this compact book is FULL of ways to bring green to your business, home and life.
My favorite chapters tackle things like
- Reducing: Doing More with Less – hey, I could USE some extra money so why not sell some of my unwanted clutter.
- Tips for Using Appliances More Efficiently – not only will I use less energy by using the PROPER size pan, but my food will cook the way it’s SUPPOSED to.
- Finding GREEN Morgtage Options – did you know that you can get CREDIT for building an energy efficient house?
See, I told you it’s really simple and with the tips in this book, you may come close to your goal (or MY goal) of saving the planet, one step at a time. This is a wonderful manual to find EVERYTHING that you need to start Living Green one step at a time.
