Flag it, tag it, bag it! The Little Black Book of Red Warning Flags by three of the savviest women I’ve read, Natasha Burton, Julie Fishman and Meagan McCrary, sits by my bed. It has been read cover to cover five (5!) times now. Z keeps emailing me and telling me to get her the review. I cannot. I am sitting here plotting how to get the hell away from my boyfriend – FAST!
These three divas don’t need me to tell you all about men. They do it superbly. If, like me, you are of that generation that was taught to never say no, make them feel like men, put plastic bags around your breasts when they come home from work, plus other mythical trivia, you have NO IDEA how to figure out the duds from the studs. I will NOT lend out The Little Black Book. It has become my reality!
Is he gay? Is he cheap? Is he a psychopath? Is he a control freak? Does he pick his nose in public? Are his relatives aliens? Is his mother his security blanket? Does he want a relationship or a one night stand? Is his personality like one of the Seven Dwarves?? This book enlightens, teaches, amazes, delights all the while dispensing ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL information about your man friend.
Now, I am not talking negative, or bitchy, or witchy. Burton, Fishman and McCray cover all the bases our mothers never spoke to us about. And that our fathers left out of his will. SEEK the truth, ladies. This is one book that shuts down the myths and talks the real talk of how to figure out if you are with an idiot or a Prince Charming.
I never listen to my Red Flags, and believe me, I hear them loud and clear. I am still learning at 62. This book is better than “Boundaries” which is my relationship mantra for figuring out how to take care of myself.
Three big cheers for three smart ladies who are willing to share their wisdom and the insights of their readers in order to give us the goods on how to be happy – even within the bounds of relationship!
The Little Black Book of Big Red Flags: Relationship Warning Signs You Totally Spotted… But Chose to Ignore is available at Amazon.com and other booksellers.
