The Revisionists carries its place in the genre of “fantastical” fiction sturdily, but without that certain edge I demand from fantasy + historical fiction.  Nicely done remains my phrase for the day.  I did not indulge myself or engage any further.  To be honest, this is not my area of expertise, I like my fantasy in the form of Alice Hoffman or Madelaine Engel, so take this review with a grain of Broad A salt.  It stings, but melts in water.  I like fantasy, but this is one of those future world novels that did not inspire my reading genes to race along.  Just me.
From a future time, a Perfect Time, comes Zed the Protector, an agent who protects the Events that have created his perfect world, including the bad events.  Zed stakes himself out through the bowels of history, and prevents circumstances from intervening in Crucial Historical Events – World War II, the Holocaust, the Twin Towers.  In order to maintain the veracity of these events, he must kill.  As he enters the 21st century on a job, he encounters Leo, Tasha and Sari, and begins to experience humanization and empathy rather than just seeing the big picture.  Which interferes with his mission.  As he encounters the cracks and facades of his future Perfect World, he begins to think and act, instead of just following orders. 
Well written and entertaining, the novel is great for people who like this genre.  Me?  Not so much.
