The Tea Shop on Lavender Lane
Sheila Roberts
Samba Barrett was the new starlet sensation in Hollywood and Bailey Sterling was thrilled to be catering Samba’s prestigious Hollywood party. Bailey’s name as a caterer to the stars was simply assured and her new confidence level showed in her swish and trot as she served her fab food. Until…Samba dropped to the floor and claimed she had gotten food poisoning as she was whisked to the hospital. Little mind that this was a lie and just a strategic newspaper headline coup for Samba: it killed Bailey’s catering business … just like that. As Bailey looked at her roster of cancelling hostesses she knew she was out of business – for good.
As Bailey heads back home to Icicle Falls to her mother and sisters for some well deserved empathy, she realizes that she needs to do something for herself, and fast. Coming home was great, but Bailey wanted her own business, and she wanted it now. When she came across a darling house on Lavender Lane, she decides to go into business with the owner of the house, and to start a tea room in Icicle Falls. Her partner is Todd Black, who unfortunately is dating Bailey’s sister Cecily. But Bailey thinks that Cecily is seeing Luke Goodman, a widower and father of a small little girl who is one of the kindest men in Icicle Falls. But Cecily’s hormones are pointing to Todd, and as Todd and Bailey start to fall in love, Cecily has to choose between family or hot-ometer!
Sweet, rustic and charming, Roberts creates a novel that brings women and their everyday issues into the little town of Icicle Falls, and develops characters that make us laugh and relate as only women can! Warm and crackling like a hot fire on a winter’s day, The Tea Shop on Lavender Lane is a great chic novel full of fun and romance.
