Home Sweet Home is just that – a sweet romance novel about coming home to the man you left behind. The plot, while predictable, with the “come hither – no you hurt me – come back” of the protagonist and her hometown boyfriend, it still creates a good summer or fall read and keeps our interest.
Andi Powell left home, and Nate, 10 years ago to go to college and become a New York City success as a management consultant with the Marks & Banks consulting firm. When she goes home on a work assignment, she has to sell a condo development to her sleepy hometown, Emerald Lake. She realizes that she misses her mom Carol, her grandma Evelyn and Lake Yarns, their knitting store. Plus, she misses her dad, whom had died the year before.
Mostly, she missed her ex-lover Nate, now the towns Mayor.
She’s about to lose her biggest client. The Klein Group wants to build vacation condos at Emerald Lake, which was Andi’s suggestion (in order to save her job). Upon arriving home, she wonders “What have I done?”
As the story drifts in and out, and within it’s characters lives, through thick and thin we know there will be a happy ending.
