Well readers, you know that Broad Z and I have a reputation for reviews of the unique and artsy, and when I saw the Itty Bitty Fortune Cookie necklace, I had to have it – oops, review it (BOTH). It came within two days along with Amy Peters Studio astounding catalog. I wanted every single item in it – truly!
When I was little, my father had just come home from Korea and it was Christmas time. One night we piled into the car and I watched the stars out of the back window with my family singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” My father stopped the car and told us to wish “Starlite Starbrite First Star I See Tonite.” My father is dead now and there are few good memories of him, but this is my first ever. Everytime I see a starlit night I thank God for this memory of him, this war broken man who could not show tenderness except in small pieces. And there – right on the page – Amy Peters has a silver matte ring – with Starlite Starbrite First Star I See Tonite on it. Another ring sits on top, with a twinkling star, and to my utter delight, the catalog was filled with delicate silver jewelry and charms and bracelets with sayings I chant to myself every day., “Dainty Disks” area whimsical and inspirational – “WINGS” engraved on one side, a flying heart on the other. And identity bracelets – “you already have it within you” on one side, enclosed hearts on the other. Sterling silver creates magic for me – I much prefer it to gold. But my little fortune cookie necklace is so different – a gold plated fortune cookie next to a silver band saying “SUCCESS” on a silver chain. I know it sounds corny, but I need these little reminders in my day to day life to squirt a little joy into the daily chaos. Gem charms, button bangles, chunky chokers – all with wonderful, whimsical sayings on them – and what I loved best – pewter treasures. Discs with “courage,” “change,” “imagine” on them – and you can buy them by the boxful to place by your night table to cherish, handle and read you to bedtime bliss. I am a savvy lady, and I was so impressed that Amy Peters never goes into the maudlin or stereotypical in her jewelry – just bright, positive sayings on silver and pewter that I rely on for my happy fix. Given beauty and inspiration, I am a sucker for this stuff! I absolutely wanted everything.
Amy Peter’s jewelry is inspired, affordable, timeless and limitless. Take a look at her website catalog andyou will be as charmed as I am. I especially LOVED LOVED LOVED the large fortune cookie bracelet – the silver engraved message band SLIDES through the gold fortune cookie so you can have good fortune at your desk, in your car, walking the dog! “Take the Leap” (Item FC07) was my very favorite, although I could own all of them and go to Happiness Heaven!
I love unique. I love well crafted. I especially love these darling daily reminders to psuh myself and love myself everyday. And these exquisite items provide all that! Please go look. I can’t imagine a better gift for myself, for all my friends, my readers, and Broad Z (BFF’s are priceless!). Just fits right into the Mansion she would say for the price of a dinner out! 5 thumbs up to Amy Peters Studio, an artistic and loving way to experience jewelry and life!
