Sure, sometimes we pick out things that we think are good for us, and at the time, they are. That boyfriend or marriage, that job, that neighborhood. As you grow and change, your choices will, too, so don’t just stick with things for old time’s sake. Ask yourself what you want and need, and don’t be afraid to admit that it’s something else. Sometimes, you have something in your mind for a really long time. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you can lose sight of these things, and you may not have even taken the time to step back and question whether you’re being true to yourself. There are many ways to do this, from taking yourself out for dinner or a coffee, to simply having a walk alone to reflect upon things. Put your phone down, and pick up the pen and paper if you have to. Write down all of your feelings, especially those things that you want to change.
