Author: Jeffery Deaver
When I first started The Kill Room, I thought Deaver the Cleaver. And as I read on, it changed to Deaver the Clever. With a monstrous plot and writing that pistons and blasts, and Lincoln Rhyme as the plot driver, this novel dives into the incredible and bobs up again in the reader’s face.
Lincoln Rhyme, ex-NYPD, and Amelia Sachs, NYPD, wait for Lincoln’s doctor in Lincoln’s N.Y.C. sitting room, which was filled with crime evidence examination gear. Ron Sellitto, Major Cases Detective joins them. Assistant DA Nancy Laurel and NYPD Special Services Brass, Bill Myers arrive at the door. They are requesting Lincoln, Amelia and Ron to assist in prosecuting a political crime: It seems the murder was a targeted assassination in the Bahamas of an American, ordered by a U.S. government official, the head of NIOS, the National Intelligence and Operations Serviced, based in N.Y.C.
Rhyme is retired from NYPD, and he is in a wheel chair. He’s a paraplegic, who has worked hard to get feeling back into some of his body. He works as a consultant to the NYPD and FBI. He and Amelia live together. Lincoln is the best forensics criminalist in the country. He, Amelia and Ron only take cases that intrigue Lincoln: for sitting in a chair bores Lincoln to death and Ron and Amelia know this. They decide to take the case.
From the Bahamas to the inner workings of one of the highest secret offices in Washington, the three partners spree themselves from the Bahamas back to N.Y.C. as they proceed to get behind the head of Shreve Metzger and his anonymous hit men. And Shreve proves to be the challenge that Lincoln needs.
There is nothing better than a Lincoln Rhyme novel, and nobody writes it better than Jeffery Deaver. Buy your ticket early – this novel will skyrocket on the best selling list!
