This was the first press release that made me laugh out loud.
I have not been a fan of David Cross in the past, neither has the wife to be. Well that is almost true, we both love his turn on Arrested Development, but everything else is kind of meh. While I am sure that there are other things that I like him in they just don’t come to mind. As for my previous experience with his stand-up I have very little. I remember this one bit about High Times that I thought was funny when I was a freshman in college, but looking back it seemed a bit juvenile. Now looking back at my last statement I feel kind of foolish because juvenile is what makes most comedy fun, I love a good fart joke.
I popped in the DVD and watched.
The menu is fantastic, look for an Easter Egg here! So I hit play.e Right up my alley. Kids swearing is wicked funny. After a minute or so he was off the stage and David Cross was on. David Cross with a crazy man beard.
This is when I started losing interest. I paused a number of times and forgot what he was talking about. He just did not engage me until the final few bits. “Me and drugs” was a fairly funny bit about doing
hallucinogenic drugs and the funny moment that seemed to relate to the 18 year old in me.
This show was shot at the Wilbur theater in Boston (my favorite city in the world). The camera angles were good although not very varied, although how could they it was stand-up. The audio was clear which was the most important feature.
Special Features Yipppeee:
Really funny bit about sky mall that should have been included within the feature.
Stupid bit about bloggers disusing him.
An Unpopular Stance
Quarter of a bit about Dane Cook, its lame and I hate Dane Cook.
A Really Surreal Thing I’ve Ever Experienced
Lame joke that really goes nowhere. Good Omission
How To Make Your Own Yogurt
Funny bit about David Crosses mother.
Unnecessary Bonus Bullshit
Just as the title says.
All and all a little funny. Not in the ranks with Eddie Murphy, my absolute favorite. Watch if you are a fan but this never goes above and beyond.
