As hard as I try to eat healthy, underneath it all I will always enjoy junk food more. Mind you, I like snacks that are the absolute WORST for me, like milk chocolate, ice cream with LOTS of butterfat, homebaked caked and cookies, cheesecake, etc. Try as I may to eat healthy, I’ll always prefer flavor over “good for me.”
So, when My Blog Spark sent me 4 bags of Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters, I thought – okay, I’ll eat them on those days when I’m trying to be good. I never considered that they’d actually taste good.
If you’re in the mood for one of those sweet and salty combination’s, this might just be the snack that you’ll want to try. While I expected a chewy granola consistency, it’s not what I got. I got crunchy – GOOD and CRUNCHY. They were reminiscent of those peanut candy bars that we used to eat when we were kids. With more NUT flavor than granola, they were just what I wanted.
- Nut Lovers (Mr. S’s favorite)
- Roasted Almond
- Roasted Cashew
- Honey Roasted Peanut (my favorite)
They’re small enough to pop a whole cluster in your mouth and the resealable bag makes them easy to store when you’re finished (that is if they last that long). These would be great packed in a school lunch for the kids, snacking in front of the TV and you could even put a bowl of them out to snack on instead of pretzels at a get together.
If you’re looking for a chewy, tasteless granola bar type of snack – this is NOT what you want.
If you’re looking for something salty, sweet and sinful tasting – dive right in!
